Belfountain Village Church Kitchen Renovation

Jacobs Construction Inc. transformed the dated kitchen at Belfountain Village Church into a brighter, more practical space for preparing food, serving refreshments and gathering together. The renovation preserves the building’s distinctive stonework and stained glass while improving storage, work surfaces and access.

New ceiling-height MDF shaker cabinets provide generous storage, with a dedicated upper cabinet space for the microwave to keep the countertop clear. An enlarged island and quartz countertops throughout create more room for food preparation and serving. Additional cabinetry along the stone wall is complemented by wooden shelves with rope detailing.

We relocated the fridge from beside the entrance to the opposite end of the kitchen and reversed its door swing to improve access. A separate refreshment station includes a circular waste opening in the quartz countertop, with bins concealed below.

The range hood now connects to an exterior exhaust through insulated, six-inch rigid galvanized ductwork. The duct runs above the upper cabinets, concealed by the cabinetry for a clean finish.

An unexpected discovery during demolition was a butter knife found inside the old kitchen drain. How long it had been there is anyone’s guess – a small suprise uncovered along the way!

The result is a welcoming kitchen designed around the everyday needs of Church and community life. Thank you to Belfountain Village Church for trusting Jacobs Construction Inc. with this project.
